Heirloom Blend Ice Cider by Eden Specialty Ciders

Heirloom Blend Ice Cider by Eden Specialty Ciders

Thursday, December 1, 2011

Our flagship ice cider is made with 15 heirloom apple varieties, all grown in Vermont. The combination creates a beautifully textured, still, sweet dessert-style cider that is elevated by a backbone of bright acidity.

Naturally cold-concentrated before fermentation in our Vermont winter weather. Arrested fermentation leaves residual sweetness.

Beautiful balance of sweetness, acidity, and fruit with notes of apple compote, pineapple, citrus, and turbinado.

Pairing suggestions: apple pie, creme brûlée, or a cheese board.

Gluten-free, vegan-friendly

Drink it on its own, after dinner, in a cocktail … with a drink this good, the possibilities are endless!

Michigan cherry wine and cherry brandy blended together for a sinfully good dessert wine! Opulent and packed with black and red cherry flavors, this port-style wine calls for decadent chocolate!

This exceptional drink is crafted by fermenting our tart cherry juice to 8.5% ABV, then fortified with in-house distilled cherry brandy. The final product is a naturally sweet fortified wine that contains residual sugars from the cherries and a warm alcoholic sensation of 19% ABV, complemented by the tart cherries’ lively acidity.

Best served slightly chilled. Cheers!

Maywine by Latah Creek

Maywine by Latah Creek

Thursday, September 22, 2011

Strawberry jam, sweet herbs, and grassy nuances with hints of fresh citrus, while maraschino cherry and strawberry linger with a fresh finish.

“Maywine has been described as ‘springtime in a bottle.’ It has traditionally been used as a wine for festive occasions, including on May Day in Germany.

“The recipe for this wine originates from Mike’s mentor in white wine, a fifth-generation Hungarian winemaker. When Mike relocated to Washington State, he brought this cherished recipe with him, utilizing local Washington fruit to pay tribute to his mentor. After more than 40  years, Mike and Natalie continue to craft this delightful celebration wine.

While Latah Creek’s version is slightly sweeter than the traditional German Maiwine typically enjoyed during their spring celebration each year, it still features the classic strawberry juice and woodruff herbs. These herbs are added to the wine once fermentation is finished and steeped for 3-5 weeks, depending on the desired intensity.

Finally, the strawberry juice is mixed in before bottling, resulting in a delightful blend of strawberry and herb flavors.

Maydelle Peach Wine

Maydelle Peach Wine

A sweet wine true to the fruit. For an interesting change, try over ice cream or to fortify your cobbler.

Some expect peach wine to be syrupy sweet, but ours isn’t. It IS sweet, but it’s only as sweet as the fruit. Made from wonderful East Texas-grown peaches, the taste is just what you’d expect … peach!
Drink chilled, over ice cream, or however you like.

Maydelle Elderberry Wine

Maydelle Elderberry Wine

This is one of our most unique wines. Elderberry has a taste that most people can’t describe. It’s a bit sweet, a bit dry, fruity, but with a taste like traditional wine. A multi-award winner, and one that must be tried.
