Vino Florida Sevora (Red Sangria)

Vino Florida Sevora (Red Sangria)

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

In English “sangria” translates into disregard of inhibitions, utter loss of inner monologue and, of course, waking up the next morning next to Brigitte, or was it Brandy? Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is, our take on traditional wine punch is the perfect balance between Seville oranges, gala apples, ripe cherries, and the sweetness of strawberries. So it’s OK to let yourself go, have a little fun, and hope that tattoo washes off.

Due to the popular demand for our sangria, we have started making larger batches, which means we needed to put it in bigger bottles than our other wines. It now comes in a 1.5L bottle, that’s double the wine for only 7 bucks more!

To be sour or to be sweet, that is the question. Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer…You know what, forget it… We’ll save you the soliloquy and just tell you that our Green Apple Gewurztraminer, though hard to say, is Da’ Bomb! Both sour and sweet, it’s a real treat. Sorry, couldn’t pass up the rhyme.

Finnriver Spirited Apple Wine

Finnriver Spirited Apple Wine

Monday, April 2, 2012

Farmcrafted with over fifty apple varieties, the nuances between each release of Spirited Apple Wine are highlighted through aging and select cidermaker blends, year after year.

We begin by blending high-acid cider, aged between one and three years within Westland Whiskey barrels, with custom-distilled brandy. Distilled from our very own cider, the brandy is sourced from Talking Cedar Distillery in Chehalis, Washington. Barrels from Westland Whiskey impart oak and age, while notes of spice, smoke, and ripe apple linger. Brownish-gold in color, our Spirited Apple Wine sews a cohesive thread between apples, age, and artisanship.

Reminiscent of a fine Calvados or apple whiskey, our Spirited Apple Wine can be sipped on its own or enjoyed as an intentional digestif between meals. Swap it for cognac in a classic Sidecar cocktail for a lower-ABV nightcap with an apple-forward twist.

Orleans Herbal Aperitif Cider by Eden Specialty Ciders

Orleans Herbal Aperitif Cider by Eden Specialty Ciders

Monday, December 12, 2011

Perfect over ice on its own, or split 50/50 with your favorite sparkling white wine and a squeeze of lime, this bright and perfumed aperitif is defined by the apples and herbs that make it. Basil is a classic culinary herb from the family Lamiceae (mint) and is originally from tropical regions of central Africa to Southeast Asia. Sometimes, the leaves, so pungent with essential oils, are reminiscent of the sweet smell of anise.

This elegant artisanal wine was developed in collaboration with maître liquoriste Deirdre Heekin. Using our Northern winter cold to concentrate fresh-pressed cider from Vermont apples, we fermented the concentrate to make a pure dry wine infused with a special blend of organic Vermont-grown herbs. A refreshing, aromatic wine, Orleans has a delicate apple flavor and white floral, honey, and anise notes. Serve chilled as-is, over ice with a twist of lime, or use it in cocktails.
