In English “sangria” translates into disregard of inhibitions, utter loss of inner monologue and, of course, waking up the next morning next to Brigitte, or was it Brandy? Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is, our take on traditional wine punch is the perfect balance between Seville oranges, gala apples, ripe cherries, and the sweetness of strawberries. So it’s OK to let yourself go, have a little fun, and hope that tattoo washes off.
Due to the popular demand for our sangria, we have started making larger batches, which means we needed to put it in bigger bottles than our other wines. It now comes in a 1.5L bottle, that’s double the wine for only 5 bucks more!

Succulent, sweet refreshing, delicious, and best of all Alcoholic. There’s really no better way to describe this amazing beverage sent to us from the gods with the traditional sweetness of Riesling, blended with ripe freshness of Florida strawberries. Be forewarned, this bottle will disappear fast, and we are not responsible for any embarrassing dance-offs, illegitimate children, or public nudity that may transpire.

“This year’s Maywine is our best ever. Our staff picks this wine to drink more often than any other wine. And anyone who has tried it in the past is now loving it. The tangy, sweet white wine is complemented perfectly by the fragrant strawberries.
“Maywine has been described as ‘Springtime’ in a bottle. It has traditionally been used as a wine for festive occasions and signifies the coming of spring, often served from a large bowl.
“Latah Creek’s winemaker blends premium Washington white wines — usually White Riesling, Chenin Blanc, or Gewurztraminer —with fragrant woodruff herbs and natural strawberry concentrate. This wonderfully fruity wine was developed from a family recipe brought to this country years ago by a Hungarian winemaker who years later passed it on to our winemaker. The resultant wine, with the addition of the strawberry concentrate, is somewhat sweeter than the traditional German Maiwine.
“Maywine can be served chilled or over ice as a wonderful aperitif. The addition of a floating strawberry makes a striking presentation. Mix with equal parts of soda water for a refreshing summer cooler. For a quick and easy wintertime mulled wine, heat Maywine with a cinnamon stick. Maywine also makes an excellent accompaniment to curry dishes.” —Latah Creek

The intense strawberry character balances nicely with a crisp apple finish. Try with chocolate or a slice of rhubarb pie.
